Final Project : Inspirational Billboard

(Week 10 - Week 14)

For this project, we were told to look at billboard and be more critical towards billboard. When I went to the airport I saw some billboards and I took some pictures of it.

After collecting the photos, I started to think and make some notes about my final project.

1.5 Notes about the design principles

There's one billboard about coffee. And it inspires me to make something that related to coffee. I give the name for my artwork as "Caffeine". I want to show the audience that the artwork represent about some workaholic people who needs caffeine because they've been working too hard. A lot of workaholic people who spend so much time on their job tend to drink coffee to feel more alert or less tired during the working day. I decided to make a design of a city. I change the buildings to coffee cups. And I also want to add some small businessman figure to represent Scale as one of the design principle.

So for my final project, I want to make an artwork that has some of the design principles that exist in the billboards. I choose Perspective, Asymmetry, Scale, Movement, Shape/Form. It all inspired from the billboards' design principle.

I'm doing it in photoshop. And most of it, I used free stock photos.

Using the references as a guide. I started to design my final project in Photoshop and Illustrator. At first, I make the river. Then when I ask for feedbacks to Miss.Sherry. She said that my river doesn't have a good perspective. I have to improve it. (I cannot show the drawing of the river because I forgot to save it as JPG at that time. I should've save it so I can show you the progress before I fixed the river).
