DESIGN PRINCIPLES - Project 2
Project 2: Sense of Place
18.10.18 - 1.11.18
(Week 8 - Week 10)
Miss Sherry explained to us that we have to find a place and make an artwork using any media that we want, the artwork have to represent the place that we choose. For this project, I decided to take photographs of the place and edit it in photoshop.
At the time, I went to One Utama Mall Kota Damansara to accompany my friend buying a drawing tablet. Before we went to the gadget store, we went to buy drinks in the grocery store. There's two place inside the grocery store that caught my eyes. The wine place and the butcher. The reason why it draws my attention is because the place were next to each other, but they both have different tones. The wine place has blue, green, and yellow tone and the butcher has red, pink and white tone. That's when the idea clicks and that exact time I begin to think that it could become an artwork for my second project.

I edited the photos in photoshop. I play with the adjustment of the photos and edit the colour balance. I also saturated the colour blue and red. I combined both colours and I fade the blue to the red colour to show that the place are placed near to each other and to show that the wine place and the butcher are in the same place which is the grocery store. I saturated both pictures to make people know that's how I feel about the place. Because the first thing I noticed about the place is the neon lights and the colour tones which give me the vibes that I really like.
During the critique at class, I'm glad that I have some time to explained about the artwork, so that people could know and feel about the place.
FEEDBACK : Miss Sherry said that it looks nice and she likes it. She said that my artwork looks so edgy.
